UN Squadron, also known as Area 88, is an arcade style top-down shooter quadron game created by Capcom. It was first released in 1989 and is based on the manga series of the same name written by Kaoru Shintani. The game takes place in a fictional country called the Principality of Aslan, where the player assumes the role of one of three mercenaries hired to fight against terrorists who have taken control of the country. The game features 3 levels of difficulty and 6 different missions with different objectives. The object of each mission is to destroy all enemy targets and achieve a high score.

The game also features many power-ups that can be picked up during gameplay. These include weapons such as missiles, bombs, and lasers, as well as extra lives and shield power-ups. Players can also collect coins which can be used to purchase upgrades for their planes. Once all of the enemies are destroyed, the level ends and the player progresses to the next one.
